One killed in Uttara truck accident

A man was killed in a truck accident in Dhaka's Uttara in the small hours of Wednesday. 

The incident occurred around 1 AM on Wednesday in front of Uttara Armed Police Battalion Headquarters.  
Passersby found the man severely injured and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead around 4 AM.  

Confirming the incident, Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp inspector Md. Faruk stated that the victim,s identity, aged around 50, yet to the ascertained.

Golam Rabbani, a passerby who helped transport the injured man, said that he saw the victim lying on the road in a pool of blood. Witnesses informed him that a truck had run over the man and fled the scene. 

With the help of locals, the injured man was initially taken to Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hospital and later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  

The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy and authorities are investigating the incident, added the inspector Faruk.
