2 killed being rammed by courier service vehicle in Kushtia

Two passengers were killed when a covered van of a courier service lost control and overturned at Mirpur upazila in Kushtia district on Tuesday.

The accident occurred at around 5 PM on the Kushtia-Pabna Highway in Saheb Nagar area of Bahalbari union in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Bitu Goyen, 30, son of Takkel Pramanik from Saheb Nagar village, and Gura Sardar, 75, from the same area.  

According to local sources and police, the Sunderban Courier Service's freight van, traveling from Kushtia towards Vheramara, lost control and overturned in the area. As a result, the van and its passengers were trapped underneath the vehicle. Both passengers in the van were killed on the spot. The accident caused a significant traffic jam, leading to considerable inconvenience for travelers.  

Police and fire service teams arrived at the scene after receiving information and the situation was brought under control.  

Confirming the incident, Syed Al Mamun, Chouddahash Highway Police officer-in-charge stated that the bodies have been recovered from the site and the situation is now under control.
