Man stabbed to death in Lalbagh

A man was stabbed to death Lalbagh area of Dhaka in the early hours of Wednesday. 

Md Mahbub Alam, 39, son of Abul Hossain from Char Maguria village in Madaripur Sadar upazila, lived with his family in a rented home in Lalbagh's Shaheednagar area. He worked as a driver of a battery-powered auto-rickshaw.

Mahbub's maternal uncle, Alauddin, shared that Mahbub had gone out to celebrate New Year's Eve and that he was informed around 5 AM about his nephew's murder. 

Lalbagh Police Station sub-inspector Abdus Selim Mia said the incident came to light when two teenagers discovered the body on Jagannath Shaha Road around 2 AM. 

The victim's body was found in a pool of blood and was sent to the morgue for autopsy on Wednesday morning after necessary legal procedures. Police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the motive behind the attack, added the police official.
