The incident occurred on Monday evening in front of the Sadar Upazila Parishad on the Sonapur-to-Maijdee road and the victim breathed his last around 2 AM on Tuesday.

The deceased, Mizanur Rahman Kiran, 60, was a resident of Padua village in Kabirhat upazila of Noakhali. He worked as the Kabirhat Upazila correspondent for the Daily Samaj Sangbad and was known for his contributions to social and humanitarian causes.

Family members said that on Monday around 7 PM, Kiran set out on his motorcycle from Kabirhat to Maijdee to purchase guidebooks for his daughter. Upon reaching the Sadar Upazila Parishad area, his motorcycle collided head-on with an oncoming CNG-powered auto-rickshaw.
