The body of a 28-year-old man was discovered in a paddy field in Jhalakathi's Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning.

The victim, Sudeb Halder, a resident of Betra village and owner of a mobile phone shop in Bawkathi Bazar, is believed to have been killed while returning home from his shop the previous night.
According to Jhalakathi Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge Moniruzzaman, locals found the body in the Rampur Jorapool area and alerted authorities. Police recovered the body around 10:00 AM, noting visible injuries on the head, suggesting Sudeb was hacked to death by unidentified assailants.

The body has been sent for autopsy and the victim's father, Subrata Halder, has filed a murder case against unidentified suspects.

Police are investigating the incident and are working to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killing.
