2 killed as speedboat collides with bulkhead in Meghna

Two people were killed when a speedboat collided with a bulkhead in the Meghna River in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj district on Friday night.

The deceased were identified as Odud Bepari, 35 and Nayeem, 30. Both were the residents of Shuagachia in the upazila.

Another one was also injured during the collision.

Around 10:30PM, the speedboat collided head-on with a bulkhead, anchored at Kalikapur ghat, leaving three people injured, Gazaria Police Station OC Anwar Alam confirmed the details.

It is believed that 10-12 people were aboard the speedboat.

The injured were taken to Gazaria Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared Wadud and Babul dead.
