Tri-annual election of Hatiya Press Club held

The triennial election of Hatiya Press Club was conducted in a festive and colorful atmosphere for the year 2025. 

The election activities began at 10:00 AM on Friday at the Press Club building. 
A total of 18 candidates contested for 11 positions, with three individuals elected unopposed. The elected members include Md. Firoz Uddin as President, Amir Hamza and Sakhawat Hossain as Vice Presidents, GM Ibrahim as General Secretary, and Mohammad Kefayetullah as Joint General Secretary (unopposed). The positions of Organizational Secretary were secured by Zillur Rahman and Tazul Islam Taslim (unopposed), while Akhtar Hossain was elected as the Treasurer (unopposed). The Executive Members elected are Zakir Hossain, Hanif Uddin Saqib, and Md. Saiful Islam.

This election marks a significant moment for the Hatiya Press Club, as direct voting for leadership had not been conducted for many years. The democratic process has created a sense of excitement and enthusiasm among journalists and the local community.

The election was overseen by commissioners AFM Shamsuddin and Ariful Mawlana. The event was attended by Navy officials and Hatiya Police Station officer-in-charge, Md. Azmal Huda, who observed the voting process. The successful completion of the election reflects a spirit of unity and progress within the journalism community.
