The century-old traditional Beliras Ras festival was held in remembrance of Dhan Singh on the occasion of Poush Sankranti at Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar district on Tuesday.

The vibrant 115th celebration took place at the grounds of Baligaon Government Primary School in North Baligaon village under Kamalganj Sadar union.
The festival was a lively spectacle, marked by exuberance, joy, and traditional music featuring drums, cymbals, and other instruments. For two days leading up to Poush Sankranti, the Manipuri community prepared their homes and decorated the Ras Mandap with colorful designs. Artists and performers added their final touches to the venue, which came alive with dances that inaugurated the festivities. Thousands of people from various ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds joined the Manipuri community to partake in the one-day celebration of unity and joy.

Speaking about the event, Mrinal Singh, President of the North Baligaon Youth Unity Council, shared, "As in previous years, the 115th Beliras Ras festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Manipuri community in our village. People from all walks of life gathered to enjoy this vibrant occasion, fostering a spirit of harmony and cultural appreciation."

The festival continues to stand as a symbol of cultural heritage and communal harmony in the region.
