Elderly man's body recovered from B'baria pond

Police have recovered the body of an elderly man from a pond at Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district on Sunday.

The body was discovered floating in the afternoon at the southern edge of a pond at Kurinal village under Shyamgram union of the upazila.

The deceased, Golam Mohiuddin, 65, was son of late Irfan Ali from Kalghara village under Rasulabad union. 

According to locals, Mohiuddin had a history of mental illness and had received treatment for it a few years ago.

Confirming the incident, officer-in-charge of Nabinnagar Police Station Abdur Razzaq said, "There were no signs of injuries were found in the body and it has been sent to Brahmanbaria General Hospital morgue for autopsy."

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of death, added the OC.
