16 hurt in clash over land dispute in Naogaon

At least 16 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups over a land dispute at Manda upazila in Naogaon district on Tuesday.

The clash broke out at Srirampur village of the upazila in the morning.

Locals said that there had been a longstanding dispute between a local Union Parishad (UP) member Hamidur Rahman and Shahidul Islam of the same village over the ownership of a piece of land. As sequence to the dispute, the both groups locked into a clash, which left at least 16 individuals from both sides injured.

Among the injured, six were admitted to the Upazila Health Complex and three were transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. 
 
Manda Police Station officer-in-charge Mansur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that legal actions will be taken upon receiving a complaint.
