Smuggled goods worth Tk 86lakh seized at Benapole border

Acting on-tip off, a team of BGB from Benapole Amarakhali Camp challenged a covered van, belongings to SA Paribahan courier service, in front of Amarakhali BGB checkpost and seized the huge consignment of smuggled goods.

BGB source said that the consignment included 882 pieces of India saree, 249 pieces readymade clothes item, 4 pieces blanket, 18 sacks raisins, 14 packet cumin, 23 pair sandals, 48 pieces Realme headphone and several amount of chocolates and cosmetics items. 

The estimated market value of the seized goods is around Tk 86 lakh six thousand. 

Senior ASP Nishat Al Nahian, Sharsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Kazi Nazib Hasan, Jashore 49th BGB Battalion, Benapole Port Police Station officer-in-charge and other law enforcers were present during the drive.
