3 held with Yaba pills in Patuakhali

Three alleged drug peddlers, including an assistant engineer, held with 322 pieces of Yaba pills at Dashmina upazila in Patuakhali district on Friday.

Police sources said that the accused were detained from Bacchu Gazi�s house at ward no 3 of the upazila in the evening.

Alongside Bacchu, the other detainees are Abu Jafor Mohammad Saidur Rahman, 38, assistant engineer of Tazumuddin Upazila Public Health Department in Bhola district and Maruf Billah Sumon, 45, of Bauphal upazila in Patuakhali district.

Dashmina Police Station officer-in-charge Mohammad Abdul Aleem said that acting on a tip-off, a team of police, led by sub-inspector Md. Chagir Mia, conducted a drive in Bacchu Gazi�s house and arrested the accused red-handed.

Police sources said that they seized 100 pieces of Yaba from Saidur, 107 pieces of Yaba from Sumon and 115 pieces of Yaba from Bacchu.

A case has been filed against the accused and they were sent to court for further actions, the OC added.
