Husband gets life imprisonment for killing wife in N’ganj

A court in Narayanganj on Monday sentenced a husband to life term imprisonment in a case filed over killing his wife in 2021.

The District and Session Court Judge Abu Shamim Azad passed the order in presence of the convict.

The convict is identified as Nurul Alam Sobuj, resident of Nimaikashari area at Siddhirganj upazila in the district.

According to the case statement, Sobuj slaughtered his wife Fatema to death over a family scuffle on May 14, 2021.

Later, he gave confessional statement under the Section 164.

Narayanganj court Public Prosecutor, Advocate Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the verdict and stated that the court testified 14 witnesses and found Sobuj guilty.
