Illegal fishing nets worth Tk 10 lakh destroyed in Bhola

An operational team of Fisheries Department in Bhola's Lalmohan upazila, has seized a huge ammount of illegal fishing nets and destroyed it on Sunday.

The team made the seizoure by conducting drives on the Meghna River under a special joint operation of the Upazila Fisheries Office on Sunday morning.

Later, the nets, worth at least Tk 10 lakh, were burned to ashes in public. 

The drive, led by Bhola District Fisheries Officer Biswajit Kumar Deb, have took place under the supervision of the Upazila Fisheries Officer Ali Ahmed Akhand, Upazila Marine Fisheries Officer Md. Saidur Rahman with the help of members of the police station
