College student dies of electrocution in Savar

A college student died after being electrocuted at Savar, outside the capital on Monday.

The deceased, Tarek-uz-Zaman, 18, was a 11th grade student of Savar BPATC School and College. 

According to police, Tarek came into contact with a broken electric wire on a footbridge in the area and sustained burn injuries. 

Locals found him lying on the footbridge, entangled with electric wires. He was rescued and taken to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead.

Savar Model Police Station officer-in-charge Jewel Mia confirmed the death and said that family took the body back home from the hospital.
