Workers' block highway demanding unpaid wages in Gazipur

Workers of Noor SMS Fashion Wear Ltd. blocked the highway in front of the factory around 8 PM demanding unpaid wages of two months . 

Police Superintendent of Gazipur Industrial Police-2 AKM Zohirul Islam confirmed the blockade and said that the building owner locked the gate of the factory after hearing that the factory owner had fled without paying salary of the workers.

Later in the evening, they gathered at the factory premises and demanded their due wages. They then, blocked the highway for an hour, he said.

On information, law enforcers reached the spot and persuaded the workers to move them off the highway. Traffic returned to normal around 9 PM, he added.
