Librarian Voice organizes 'Library Awareness Campaign' in Rajshahi

The Library Awareness Campaign, organized by Librarian Voice, successfully completed its third day of activities at Mirzapur High School and College. 

The initiative aims to foster a reading habit among school students and raise awareness about the importance of libraries. The students participated in the event with great enthusiasm.

The main speakers at the event, Razia Sultana Parul and Faisal Nomani, are students of the Department of Information Science and Library Management at Rajshahi University. 

Their motivational speeches encouraged students to develop an interest in reading and libraries. Razia Sultana Parul also conducted a gamification event, telling the students, "If we build the habit of reading, our generation will lead Bangladesh toward progress." Faisal Nomani highlighted the importance of regular reading circles and said, "The youth have the potential to build a unique and progressive Bangladesh, a vision supported by Professor Dr. Yunus."

The event featured several activities, including quiz competitions, experience-sharing sessions, and a science box exhibition. The science box demonstration showcased scientific experiments, conducted by GM Saiful Islam and Mushfiqur Rahman, which captivated the students.

To encourage reading, prizes were awarded to students with the support of English Moja and Sotirtho Prokashona. The prizes helped increase students' enthusiasm for books and reading.

The program was hosted by Hamim Hosyn, with support from volunteers Nazmus Saqib, Raihan Ali, Sohag Ahmed, and other members of Librarian Voice. 

The school principal and other faculty members attended the event. The principal praised the initiative, stating, "This will have a significant impact on the academic lives of students and will help promote a culture of libraries."

The Library Awareness Campaign is overseen by Dr. Konok Monirul Islam and Nazibur Rahman Nazim, the editor and advisor of Librarian Voice. 

The campaign will continue across seven schools in Dhaka and Rajshahi until February 3, 2025, with the goal of promoting reading habits and enhancing the role of libraries in education.
