Illegal brick kiln fined and banned in Kishoreganj

A mobile court conducted a drive at Katiadi upazila in Kishoreganj on Monday, fined and banned an illegal brick kiln Tk 5 lakh for breaching rules of the Department of Environment (DoE).

The mobile court, headed by Assistant commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Laboni Akter Tarana, conducted the drive at upazila�s Dari Chariakona area in the afternoon.

Local administrators said that SBH brick kiln, under the ownership of Masuduzzaman Babu, has started their production in 2016 and since then, they have been breaching the Brick Kiln Act, 2013.

Later, the mobile court banned the brick kiln and finned Tk 5 lakh under the direction of District Commissioner (DC) Fouzia Khan. 

Additionally, a bond has been taken on the condition that the brick kiln will not be opened in future.

Confirming the matter, the DC said that the administration will continue these types of drive against the illegal brick kilns.
