Auto-rickshaw driver’s body recovered from Brahmaputra River

Police recovered the body of an auto-rickshaw driver from the Brahmaputra River at Sonargoan upazila in Narayanganj District on Tuesday. 

The deceased was identified as Noyon, 30, son of late Joynal Abedin from Tikkapara area of Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital. He used to live in Belpara area under Sadipur union of the upazila.

According to police sources, seeing the body floating on the Brahmaputra river at Darikandi area near Langolbond bridge, locals informed police. 

Being informed, a team of Baidder Bazar River Police outpost rushed there and recovered the body.

The police outpost in-charge Mahbubur Rahman said that the body was sent to a hospital morgue for autopsy.

"Several injury marks have been found on the mouth of the body. The actual reason behind the death will be known after getting autopsy report," he added.
