Child drowns in Gaibandha pond

A child drowned in a pond at Sadullapur upazila in Gaibandha district on Tuesday.

The deceased, Labib Mia, 6, was son of Safiqul islam from Torofmohodi village under Bhatgram union of the upazila.

According to family members, Labib went to field following his grandfather on Tuesday morning. While playing on the bank of the pond, he suddenly slipped into it and drowned there.

Bhatgram Union Parishad member Ashraful Islam confirmed the death.
