3 injured, four houses gutted in Rajbari

At least four houses were gutted and three individuals sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at Goalanda upazila in Rajbari district on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at around 4:30 PM at the residence of Hashem Mohori of Nilu Sheikherpara area of the upazila.

According to locals, the fire originated from an electrical short circuit at a tenant�s house and quickly spread to four adjacent houses. At that time, an individual trapped into the fire and sustained burns. However, he was rescued with the help of locals and taken to the Upazila Health Complex. 

While trying to save the trapped one, three sustained injuries.

Being informed, firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. 

Goalanda Police Station officer-in-charge Mohammad Rafiqul Islam confirmed incident.

The fire caused losses of worth around Tk 15-20 lakh, said Goalanda Fire Service team leader Sabeequl Islam.
