Man killed, 5 injured in Nilphamari road accident

The crash took place between a truck and an auto-rickshaw in Manthordanga area along Dalia Road under the municipality. The accident was attributed to dense fog, which severely reduced visibility.  

The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam, son of the late Siraj Uddin from Chaitanyaghat area in Golmunda union. 

The injured include Asadul, from East Balagram; Abdul Gaffar from West Balagram; Kawser, Rahmatullah, and Roni.  

According to locals, the accident involved an auto-rickshaw traveling from Golmunda to Jaldhaka and a truck (Dhaka Metro T-24-4327) heading from Jaldhaka to Dalia. The collision occurred due to poor visibility caused by the fog.  

Immediately after the incident, the injured were rescued and taken to Jaldhaka Health Complex Hospital. Three of the critically injured�Abdul Gaffar, Roni, and Kawser�were later transferred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Medical officials reported that one of the injured remains in critical condition.  
Jaldhaka Police Station officer-in-charge Sazzad Hossain stated that he rushed to the scene upon receiving the news and ensured the rescue of the vehicles and the injured. He also confirmed that the truck driver and helper fled the scene immediately after the accident.
