25 injured in Madaripur clash

At least 25 injured in a clash between two groups over constructing a road at Rajoir upazila in Madaripur district on Saturday.

The incident took place at Nararkandi village under Paikpara union of the upazila.

According to locals, an argument broke out between the two groups over constructing of a road to their houses. When the news spread in the area, people from both sides engaged in a clash with local weapons. At least 25 people from both sides were injured in the two-hour long clash. 

Later, being informed, the law enforcers rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. 

Of the injured, 11 individuals were taken to Upazila Health Complex for treatment as their condition critical.

Rajoir Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Masud Khan said that additional police have been deployed to the spot to avert any untoward situation.
