Wife of expatriate, lover found hanging in C'nawabganj

Police have recovered the hanging bodies of a mother of two and her alleged lover from Gomostapur upzila in Chapainawabganj district on Saturday midnight.

The recovery took place around 11.30 PM on Saturday at Khairabad colony at Rahanpur municipality in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Tushi Begum, 24, wife of Malayasia expatriate San Mohammad Sonu and mother of two children; and Rakib, 28, son of Mosharaf Hossain from Argarahat village under Shibganj upazila.

According to locals, they both were involved in an extramarital affair in absence of Tushi's husband. On the same night of the incident, Rakib went to meet Tushi, when family members discovered them. Fearing social disgrace, the duo allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves with a scarf. 

Locals alerted the police after noticing the two bodies hanging inside the room. Police rushed to the scene around 11:00 PM, broke open the door, and recovered the bodies.

Gomostapur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Khairul Bashar confirmed the incident and stated that the bodies were recovered and will be sent for autopsy on Sunday morning. 

An unnatural death case is being prepared in connection with the incident, added the OC.
