7 workers ‘abducted’ in Bandarban

Seven workers have been abducted by armed miscreants in Lama upazila of Bandarban district.

The incident occurred on Sunday at Bumor Khal in Kamla Bagan Para.

Md Shahidullah Kaisar, the superintendent of Bandarban Police, confirmed that authorities received information about the abduction and that joint forces have launched a rescue operation. The workers were taken from their shed in Bumor Khal, located in the No. 9 ward of Sarai Union in the upazila.

This is not the first such incident in the area. On January 14, a similar abduction occurred when seven rubber workers were kidnapped by armed individuals. Fortunately, they were rescued the following day by the joint forces.
