Teen drowns in Ctg pond

An 18-year-old boy was drowned in a pond while visiting his uncle's house at Patiya upazila in Chattogram district on Monday.

The incident occurred at a Dharpara pond near Anukul Thakur Ashram under Haidgaon union in the upazila.

The deceased was identified as Shanto Nandi, son of Sanjay Nandi from Rangpur district. He appeared for the SSC exams this year.

According to reports, Shanto had gone to bathe with friends in a nearby pond. While his friends returned home after swimming, he did not returned. 

Later, Neighbours searched the pond and eventually found his body. They then took him to Patiya Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Santa Nandi's uncle Subhash Sen confirmed the incident.
