Library needed for Chandina Jame Mosque

Dear Sir,

The historic three-domed Jame Mosque in Mehar village of Maijkhar union No. 9, Chandina upazila of Comilla district, is one of the oldest mosques in the area. Built in 1924 by Haji Nazar Mamud, a respected and wealthy local, the mosque has long served as a spiritual hub for the community.

A mosque is not only a place of worship but also a center for learning and guidance. Establishing a library at Chandina Nazar Mamud Haji Bari Jame Mosque would significantly expand its role. Alongside the Holy Quran, Hadith, Tafsir, and Sirat, the library could offer books on literature, history, science, and philosophy, creating a balanced source of both religious and general knowledge.

Such an initiative would particularly benefit the youth by engaging them in meaningful learning and reducing overreliance on mobile phones and the internet. If managed under the guidance of the mosque's imam and local educationists, it could grow into a true center of enlightenment. This library would be an invaluable asset for Chandina and surrounding areas, setting an inspiring example for future generations. We, therefore, urge government authorities and generous individuals to extend support for this noble cause.

Osman Gani
Vice-President, Chandina Press Club
