Child’s body found in N’ganj pond

A child’s body has been recovered by the fire service from a pond at Shimrail area of Siddhirganj upazila in Narayanganj district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Saifa Akter, 8, daughter of Mohammad Saddam Hossain, a resident of the same area.

According to Kanchpur Fire Service in-charge Jahangir Alam, upon receiving the news, they rushed to the scene.

After about half an hour of searching, they recovered Saifa's lifeless body from the pond. Saifa was taken to a local hospital in an unconscious state where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.
