Selim Khan, front page editor, visited the offices of Daily Star following recent disturbances, before proceeding to the Prothom Alo office on Friday morning. While there, an RTV reporter, seemingly unaware of Khan's identity, inquired about the operations of the two newspapers from a general public perspective.

Speaking as a senior journalist, Khan remarked, "The current situation at Daily Star and Prothom Alo reflects a level of aggression comparable to violent incidents, such as the attack on Hadi."

During the interaction, an individual allegedly shouted at Khan, accusing him of being "an agent of India at Prothom Alo and Daily Star." The confrontation escalated as several others joined in, and Khan recalled that at one point, someone raised a hand in an apparent attempt to strike him. "When I looked into his face, I realized he intended to kill me. I immediately left the premises to ensure my safety," he said.

The incident has sparked serious concern within the journalistic community over threats to press freedom and the safety of media professionals. Colleagues emphasized that physical intimidation undermines journalism's essential role in holding power to account.
