Dhaka Bank announces Osman Ershad as new MD

Dhaka Bank PLC announced the Banking veteran Osman Ershad Faiz as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD and CEO) on Sunday, says a press release. 

Prior to joining Dhaka Bank,Faiz served as Additional Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (AMD and COO) of Eastern Bank PLC, a role he assumed in January 2025. 

Prior to that, he was the Co- Founder of Asia FiiT,an international banking and FinTech advisory firm headquartered in Singapore.

Faiz brings more than 30 years of international banking experience,having held senior leadership roles across global financial institutions. 

He also served as Managing Director and Chief Information Officer (Wholesale Banking, Eastern Hemisphere) at Standard Chartered Bank and spent five years as a Director of the Singapore Clearing House Association.

Faiz received the "Legend" Award at the World CIO200 Summit 2023. Since 2015, he has been a Fellow of the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF), Singapore. 

Faiz holds a B Com (Honours) and an MBA from Aligarh Muslim University and has completed executive education programmes at INSEAD and the University of Oxford Saïd Business School. He began his professional career as a Management Trainee at American Express in 1993.
