Govt employees to get 4-day break around election

The government has declared February 11 a general holiday, the day before the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election. February 12 is already a general holiday for Election Day. 

As the following two days-Friday and Saturday-are weekly holidays, there will be a continuous four-day break around the election.

In addition, February 10 will be a general holiday for workers in industrial areas. As a result, excluding Friday and Saturday, industrial workers will enjoy a consecutive three-day holiday.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Advisory Council of the interim government on Thursday, chaired by Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.

February 12, the election day, will be a general holiday as previously announced and February 11 a general holiday. February 10 a holiday for workers and employees in industrial areas. Workers will get three days off.
