Student among 2 dead in Jatrabari road crash

Two people on a motorcycle, including a student, have been killed after their vehicle was rammed by a truck in the Shanir Akhra area of Dhaka's Jatrabari.

The incident occurred late on Saturday night.

The dead have been identified as Khairul Hossain Kamrul, a 20-year-old student in his second year at Vashantek Government College, and Md Yasin, a 27-year-old motorcycle trader.

Both of them were travelling on the same motorcycle during the accident.

They were rescued from the scene and taken to the emergency department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Khairul dead around 11pm. Yasin died while undergoing treatment around 12:30am on Sunday.

Inspector Md Faruk of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Outpost said that the bodies are at the hospital's morgue.

Mahadi Islam, who brought the accident victims to the hospital, said that the two were critically injured when their motorcycle was rammed by a poultry truck in the Shanir Akhra area. They were then rescued and brought to the hospital.    �"bdnews24
