Leaders of expatriate journos presenting a commemorative crest to Arifur Rahman, First Secretary (Press) of the Bangladesh Consulate General in Dubai, at a farewell reception.

Expatriate journalists working in the United Arab Emirates organized a farewell reception in honor of Mohammad Arifur Rahman, First Secretary (Press) of the Bangladesh Consulate General in Dubai. 

The event was held on Wednesday evening (February 4) at the hall room of Al Motina Royal Night Restaurant in Dubai. The program was presided over by Saiful Islam Talukder, President of the Expatriate Journalists Association, while S. M. Fayzullah Shahid, correspondent of The Daily Ittefaq, conducted the event. 

The welcome speech was delivered by Fakhruddin Munna of Gazi TV.

Speeches were also delivered by Nasim Uddin Akash, Nausher Ali, Obaidul Haque Manik, Mohammad Selim, Masum Billah Raihan, Md. Monir Hossain, Abul Kalam, Md. Alinur, Shariat Ullah Sabuj, Saidur Rahman, among others.

The speakers praised Mohammad Arifur Rahman for his professionalism, cordial relationship with journalists, and his constructive role in projecting a positive image of Bangladesh abroad. They stated that he played a significant role in maintaining strong cooperation and mutual understanding between journalists and the consulate.

At the end of the discussion, expatriate journalists presented a commemorative crest to Mohammad Arifur Rahman as a token of appreciation.

In his speech as the chief guest, Mohammad Arifur Rahman said that during his two-year tenure, he always tried to work closely with journalists. He acknowledged that the cooperation of expatriate journalists greatly facilitated his efforts to promote Bangladesh’s positive image abroad.

He further stated that the sincerity, harmony, and professionalism he experienced with the expatriate journalist community during his tenure would always remain memorable. He consistently supported journalists in fulfilling their professional responsibilities and successfully built an effective bridge between Bangladesh and expatriate media.
