Nazrul Islam Manju appointed as KCC administrator

Nazrul Islam Manju has been appointed as the administrator of Khulna City Corporation (KCC).

According to officials familiar with the matter on Sunday, the government made the appointment as part of an administrative decision aimed at ensuring smooth governance of the city corporation.

Expressing gratitude following the appointment, Manju said the responsibility is both an honour and a significant challenge.

He pledged to serve city residents with integrity, transparency and accountability, adding that meeting public expectations would remain his top priority.

Manju also thanked Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for placing confidence in him, saying his goal is to transform Khulna into a modern, clean and citizen-friendly city.

Khulna City Corporation is considered one of the country’s key municipal bodies. Addressing infrastructure development, waste management, waterlogging, road improvement and ensuring improved civic services are expected to be among the major challenges for the newly appointed administrator.

City residents have expressed hope that under Manju’s leadership, development activities in Khulna will gain further momentum and long-standing urban issues will be addressed effectively.
