Measles deaths: Application to sue Yunus submitted, later dismissed

The application, to file a case against five individuals including former Chief Adviser  Dr. Muhammad Yunus and former Health Adviser Nur Jahan Begum, over allegations of 'negligence death' of children in measles, has been dismissed, hours after submission.

The hearing of the application was held with the CMM court on Monday noon where it was dismissed.

Earlier this morning, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Iqbal, member of parliament for Kishoreganj-5, filed the petition with the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam.

Former secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Md Saidur Rahman, former special assistant to the chief advisor Md Sayedur Rahman and former director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Md Abu Jafor have been requested to be named as suspects in the case.
