4 killed as bus falls into ditch in B'baria

Four people were killed and at least 10 injured after a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Brahmanbaria's Sarail upazila on Monday.

The accident occurred at 12noon on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway's Boishamora area.

The deceased were identified as Aros Ali Munshi, 70, of Sarail upazila; Mousumi Das, 30, wife of Samar Das of Habiganj; Alif Hasan, 8, son of Sabuj Miah and Tonosh Majumder, 23, son of Shetu Majumder.

According to highway police and eyewitnesses, the driver of a Diganta Paribahan bus lost control when the vehicle reached Boishamora area and fell into the ditch, leaving four dead on the spot.

Police and Fire Service personnel rescued the injured and admitted to different hospitals nearer.
