A Dhaka court has granted a two-day remand for Masudur Rahman, who was detained in Malaysia over allegations of posting extremist-related content on social media.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana issued the order on Thursday after police sought five days remand for questioning him under Section 54.

Investigators said Malaysian authorities handed him over to Bangladesh police on Wednesday evening, after which immigration officers detained him at the airport.

Rahman allegedly shared videos linked to groups such as Al-Qaeda, Hamas and Taliban on Facebook.
