Media urged to highlight both negative, positive news

Fisheries, Livestock and Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid urged journalists to report not only the positive achievements of the ministry and its affiliated agencies but also their shortcomings and negative aspects in a fair and objective manner.

During a courtesy meeting with newly elected committee members of Fisheries and Livestock Journalists Forum (FLJF) at his office in the Secretariat on Tuesday (June 23), he minister made the remarks. At the beginning of the meeting, FLJF President Tariqul Islam Sumon and General Secretary Zahidur Rahman presented several proposals aimed at ensuring sustainable development in the fisheries and livestock sectors, according to a press release.

During the discussion, the minister listened to the journalists’ observations and spoke about various challenges and limitations facing the fisheries and livestock sector.

He emphasized that the role of the media extends beyond reporting development successes; it also includes highlighting problems, irregularities, and weaknesses within the sector.
