NALITABARI, SHERPUR, Mar 5: The people of Nalitabari welcomed the sudden inspection of the 50-bed Nalitabari Upazila Health Complex by Engineer Fahim Chowdhury, the newly elected MP of Sherpur-2 (Nakla-Nalitabari), on Wednesday.
Citizens say the surprise visit reflects his commitment to addressing local healthcare issues.
After attending a programme of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) in Nalitabari, the MP went directly to the health complex without any formal ceremony.
He toured various wards, checked on patients, and spoke with doctors and staff. During the visit, he observed issues including shortages of doctors and nurses, insufficient beds and modern equipment, and a lack of ambulances.
Promising improved healthcare services, Engineer Fahim Chowdhury said, "I was elected with the unwavering support and love of the people. Ensuring modern, quality healthcare for the residents of Nakla-Nalitabari is one of my top priorities. During this field visit, I have identified the hospital's main challenges. Measures will be taken promptly to increase the number of doctors and nurses, supply necessary medical equipment, and resolve other issues."
Local residents have appreciated the MP's proactive approach and service-oriented mindset. Many believe that prioritizing healthcare from the start of his term could provide new directions for development in Nakla-Nalitabari.
