A nor'wester in Moulvibazar's Kamalganj upzila has disrupted power supply across the upazila, damaging three transformers and power lines.

The impact of the storm that lasted for about an hour left the upazila in blackout since 12:30 noon.

It was known that the nor'wester on Friday afternoon damaged the power lines uprooting trees and poles. Three transformers fell onto the road in Sabujbagh residential area of Shamshernagar bazaar.

In addition, the storm damaged transformers in several other places causing power supply cut off in most places in the upazila from noon to 4:45 pm.

Authorities concerned stated that several officials have been working to normalize the power supply.

Deputy General Manager of Kamalganj Palli Bidhyut, Ranjan Kumar Ghosh, confirmed the disruption and damage adding that efforts are being made to repair them quickly and restore the power supply.
