Joypurhat to enforce ‘no documents, no fuel’ policy

Joypurhat district administration, in coordination with district petrol pump owners’ association, has decided to deny fuel to all motor vehicles, including motorcycles, without valid registration documents, driving licences and helmets.

The decision was finalised at a meeting held on Sunday at the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) conference room, where officials and fuel station owners discussed the prevailing fuel situation and regulatory measures.

DC Al Mamun Mia, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mina Mahmud and Additional District Magistrate Mohaimena Sharmin, along with leaders of the Petrol Pump Owners’ Association, attended the meeting.

Under the directive, fuel stations across the district will be required to verify necessary documents before dispensing fuel.

Authorities said the measure is aimed at strengthening compliance with traffic laws, ensuring road safety and maintaining discipline in fuel distribution.
