Man electrocuted in Satkhira fish enclosure

A man died after being electrocuted while working at his enclosure in Satkhira’s Kaliganj upazila on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Sheikh Oliul Islam, 35, son of Sheikh Aminur Rahman, a resident of Ganapati village. He was a fish enclosure owner.

According to police, the incident occurred at Ganapati Beel when Oliul was operating an electric water pump at his fish enclosure.

At that time, he came in contact with a live electric wire and died on the spot.

Later, locals spotted his body floating in the waterbody and informed family members, who recovered the body.

Kaliganj Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Jewel Hossain confirmed the incident and said that the body was handed over to the deceased’s family after completion of legal formalities.
