NCP names mayoral candidates for 5 city corporations

The Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) has unveiled its mayoral candidates for five city corporation elections, fielding prominent party figures including spokesperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain for Dhaka South and Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adeeb for Dhaka North.

NCP Convener Nahid Islam announced the nominations during a Sunday evening press conference at the party's Banglamotor central office in Dhaka ahead of forthcoming local government polls.

The party will contest mayoral races in five of Bangladesh's 12 city corporations. Beyond the two Dhaka divisions, the NCP nominated Advocate Tarikul Islam for Cumilla City Corporation, Advocate Md Abdur Rahman Afzal for Sylhet City Corporation, and Md Mobasher Ali for Rajshahi City Corporation.
