Justice Md Rezaul Hasan of the Bangladesh Supreme Court's High Court Division has resigned following allegations of corruption.

He submitted his resignation to the Supreme Court on Monday (March 30), which was subsequently forwarded to the President, according to official sources.

The move comes after K M Mojibul Haque, chairman of Shah Group, filed a complaint with the Supreme Judicial Council accusing Justice Hasan of corruption, misconduct, and abuse of power.

The complaint cites two company cases from 2010 and 2011, alleging biased conduct. In one case, the verdict referenced a senior lawyer who was not present, a point later overturned by the Appellate Division. In another, 1.3 million shares of the petitioner’s wife were canceled without her being included as a party, allegedly violating principles of justice.
