A trader has been fined Tk 20,000 during a drive for illegally selling petrol and diesel in the open market in Jaldhaka, Nilphamari.
On Tuesday, Upazila Executive Officer Zayed Imrul Mozakkin, in collaboration with RAB and police, conducted a day-long drive against the sale of petroleum products in various markert of the upazila.
During the drive, they fined Tk 20,000 to a person for illegally selling petrol and diesel in the open market.
Meanwhile, Zayed Imrul mentioned that he monitored the sale of fuel oil at various filling stations to prevent irregularities.
"We need objective and specific accurate information." Therefore, he requested everyone to cooperate with accurate information.
The officer also said that tag officers have already been appointed at every filling station as per government instructions to prevent irregularities.
He appealed to all buyers to be patient and maintain discipline. It is only with the sincere cooperation of all of you that it is possible to overcome this temporary problem, the officer added.
