A Dhaka court on Monday placed former DGFI chief Lt Gen (retd) Sheikh Mamun Khaled, on a fresh three-day remand in a murder case linked to the July Mass Uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad passed the order after hearing a plea from the investigation officer, who sought four more days to verify information obtained during earlier interrogation.
Mamun Khaled had previously been remanded for 11 days in two phases. After the hearing, the court granted a three-day remand.
He was arrested on March 25 in a Detective Branch (DB) police drive in Mirpur.
The case relates to the killing of Delwar Hossain, who was shot during a protest in Mirpur-10 on July 19, 2024, and succumbed to his injuries on July 21.
The case was filed in July 2025.
Folllowing the incident, Delwar’s wife, Liza Akter, filed a case on July 6, 2025, with Mirpur Model Police Station.
