Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Robiul Alam has announced that a fare chart for air-conditioned (AC) buses and minibuses will be prepared soon, alongside plans to display the fares digitally inside public transport.

He made the announcement while responding to a written question from lawmaker Rumeen Farhana.

The session of the Jatiya Sangsad was chaired by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.

The minister said that arrangements will be made to install digital display systems inside buses and minibuses for passengers to see the list easily.

Referring to the Road Transport Act, 2018, Sheikh Robiul Alam noted that there is a provision to form passenger and freight transport committees in every metropolitan area, division and district. These committees determine the number of transport vehicles and approve route permits, considering the capacity of the roads in the relevant area.

He added that these measures aim to bring greater transparency and discipline to the public transport sector.
