Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is all set to start a two-day (Friday-Saturday) interviewing of candidates for women's 50 reserved seats in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Friday at 3pm, official sources said.

The ruling (BNP) party's senior leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the nomination board, led by party chairman Tarique Rahman, will evaluate hundreds of applications, submitted by aspiring MP candidates.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday at BNP's Naya Paltan party office in the city Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of the ruling party and Prime Minister's Adviser,  said that many women aspiring to become candidates for the reserved women's seats in the 13th JS have submitted their applications.

"Because of this, the party's nomination board will begin interviews on Friday at 3pm," he added.  The nomination board will be led by Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman. And members of the party's standing committee will also be present at the interviewing.
Rizvi further said the members of the National Standing Committee will interview party candidates.

Candidates from Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, and Faridpur divisions will be interviewed on Friday. And on Saturday, candidates from Chattogram, Sylhet, Comilla, Dhaka, and Mymensingh divisions will be interviewed.

Over 1,200 nomination forms were sold over the last three days (Friday to Sunday). And by Monday, nearly 900 nomination forms were  submitted.

The election for the reserved women's seats in the 13th JS will take place on May 12.
