Shop closing time extended to 9PM nationwide

The government has extended the operating hours of shops and shopping malls until 9:00PM, following demands from business owners, according to the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association.

Under the new directive, shops and shopping centres will remain open from 11:00AM to 9:00PM. The decision was conveyed after discussions between the Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry and the association leadership.

Previously, shop closing hours had been restricted to 6:00PM amid global energy concerns, later extended to 7:00PM with some relaxation during the Eid-ul-Azha period before being reimposed.
