Bangladesh and Pakistan have discussed recent developments surrounding efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict in the Gulf region during a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman met Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday, where he expressed appreciation for Islamabad’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at bringing the conflict to a negotiated settlement.

During the meeting, Dr. Rahman thanked Pakistan for what he described as its “commendable diplomatic efforts” in supporting peace initiatives in the region.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan and explored opportunities for broader cooperation.

Foreign Affairs Adviser to Prime Minister Humayun Kobir was also present at the meeting.

The discussions included an exchange of views on regional developments, particularly Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran.

Following the meeting, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said he was pleased to meet Dr. Khalilur Rahman on the sidelines of the forum.

He noted that both sides discussed strengthening bilateral ties and reviewed regional issues, including Pakistan’s hosting of the Islamabad talks.
